Bach’s ultimate masterpiece in a spirited interpretation by Les Idées heureuses, a group comprising a string quartet, a recorder quartet, an organ and two harpsichords. Feininger: The Great Carnival: This is the first major North American retrospective devoted to Lyonel Feininger (1871-1956), a multidisciplinary American artist who became one of the leading figures of German Expressionism and the Bauhaus. Music is at the heart of the exhibition, to reflect its importance for Feininger, who was also a talented musician and composer. The presentation features 350 works: paintings, watercolours, woodcuts, satirical cartoons, photographs, emblematic depictions of carnival scenes and architectural landscapes, as well as playful sculptures.
