With this documentary, the filmmakers (who include one of the co-directors of “Manufacturing Consent”) have come with an ingenious way to tackle an incredibly broad subject. Seizing on the fact that a corporation is defined as a “person” in the eyes of the law, they extrapolate to ask what kind of person that would be, putting the corporation on the psychiatric couch. It’s a stroke of communication genius. Brimming with interviews, reports and anecdotes, this epic-scale movie effectively calls into question an institution we all take for granted. That it’s funny as well as engaging and informative only helps to sell its message.
