  It starts out like the crappiest kids’ flick, with trite family melodrama surrounding a boy whose grandfather has mysteriously disappeared and whose grandma is in has so much debt that she’s about to lose their house. Fortunately, the live-action part of the story is brief and once we get into the animated adventure, which has Arthur exploring the grass-level world of the Minimoys, the movie is quite imaginative and fun, like a miniature version of Besson’s “The Fifth Element.”
