Everything Changes

Disc review

Formerly known as Jake and the Leprechauns, this Sherbrooke posse serves up a strong blend of folk- and country-infused rock, which alternately calls to mind Neil Young, Fleet Foxes and My Morning Jacket. Recorded live to tape by Mark Lawson at Hotel2Tango and at Arcade Fire’s Petite Église in Farnham, Everything Changes is a reinvigorating LP driven by interweaving guitars, moody keys and superb vocal harmonies, enriched even more by the string arrangements of Marc Papillon-Ferland and the horn arrangements of Jérôme Dupuis-Cloutier. At its best, as on the exquisite If You Come Home, Harvest Breed sounds like a classic band in the making.
