It Takes Time

Disc review

Produced, recorded and mixed at Breakglass Studios by Jace Lasek (The Besnard Lakes), this four-song EP finds Montreal quartet Intensive Care experimenting with various forms of rock. The intricate song structures and arrangements suggest prog influences, while Philippe Manasseh’s singing style and keyboard playing sometimes echo of 80s new wave. And then there’s the vivid guitars of Nadim Maghzal, hearty drums of Evan Tighe and groovy bass of Derek Koziol, which bring the whole shebang firmly into 21st century indie rock.
