Suoni per il Popolo has announced a bunch of names of artists who will play during the 2012 edition of the festival, which will take place from June 6 to 23.
Among them we find the William Parker Orchestra and their tribute to the Duke, “The Essence of Ellington”; metal veterans Voivod; garage rock and doo-wop great Mark Sultan; avant-folk singers Jennifer Castle and Kath Bloom; former member of anarchist punk band Crass Penny Rimbaud; krautrock heir Le Révélateur; Syrian party-starter Omar Souleyman; guitar god Marc Ribot; folk-pop band Siskiyou…
Also promising is the recreation of Popol Vuh’s Nosferatu soundtrack by William Hesselink and his ensemble and of Gavin Bryars’ The Sinking Of Titanic score by Innovarumori, plus the return of Wyrd Fest.
