On this third album, these funny Belgians sound either like Eagles of Death Metal or early Beck (remember his electronic swamp blues thing, way before his Gainsbourg phase?). Well, what can you expect from guys with silly stage names like Dirty Coq, Boogie Snake and Devil D’Inferno? When you listen to Liquid Love, it makes perfect sense that mighty rocker Jon Spencer recorded it on tape (!) at his Heavy Trash friend Matt Verta-Ray’s studio in New York. A deliciously groovy cocktail blending some blues, psychobilly, boogie and garage rock, with a bunch of funky 70s influences, shaken not stirred. Serve chilled, on the rocks.
