Crafted in partnership with faithful collaborator Bix, the particularly short record showcases Kool Krys’ characteristic bass-heavy sound. The vibrant Ottawa native proposes a chain of cheerful tunes through which she carries the idea that what we create represents how we feel. The soulful Let Me Play It as well as the fast-paced Show Stopper - for which the MuchMusic-friendly Marc André Debruyne directed an M.I.A.-esque video – should allow Kool Krys to leapfrog over the alternative radio circuit in which she’s habitually confined. Far from being groundbreaking, Listen to Your Art remains heartfelt.
