The nominations for the 14th edition of the Jutra Awards were announced this morning. Unsurprisingly, the Oscar-nominated Monsieur Lazhar leads the race with 9 nods. What did surprise us was all the omissions: Jaloux, Jo pour Jonathan, La vérité, Laurentie, The High Cost of Living were all entirely passed over, and En terrains connus and Marécages were only recognized in the Best Sound category. And no Best Supporting Actor nomination for Paul Doucet in Funkytown?
We could go on and on, but let’s stop now and congratulate instead those who did make the cut. The Jutra Awards will be broadcast by Radio-Canada on March 11, live from Théâtre Saint-Denis.
