Worlds Torn Asunder

Disc review

Remember when you first heard a Lamb of God album? You know, that old-school urgency and in-your-face drive? Warbringer delivers pure thrash metal in spades like the best bands from that whole revival scene (e.g., Municipal Waste). You’ve got the requisite angry vocals (between D.R.I.’s and Death’s), blasting and thunderous beats, the always welcome twin-guitar harmonies and mean riffs (think old Sepultura), sweet classical intros, some Pantera-like heavy-as-fuck breakdowns and lots of mighty solos, from the wah-wah ones (reminding of ol’ Metallica) to some more twisted stuff à la Slayer. Worlds Torn Asunder is definitely mosh-pit-ready. Your neck is already aching from too much head-banging. And the production kills. For real.
