Koyaanisqatsi meets The Corporation in this thought-provoking, brilliantly crafted film about nothing less than the history of the modern world and the fate of civilization – all that in 85 minutes! Through interviews with some of the greatest minds of our era (Ronald Wright, Stephen Hawking, Margaret Atwood, David Suzuki, Michael Hudson, etc.) and stunning montages of new and archival footage that dizzyingly take us through time and space while we’re being bombarded with fascinating, sometimes disturbing information and ideas, Surviving Progress is as ambitious as it gets and pulls it off. It raises more questions than it answers, of course, but that’s the name of the game when you’re tackling such lofty subjects.

Thanks for the review Kevin! I found Surviving Progress to be quite a fascinating look at our planet, human beings and what we need to do in order to change the course of history we’ve plotted.
Can we change? Will we want to change? Four our children’s children sake, I hope we do.
