Our prime minister would never be allowed to change the name of Canada but he can be remembered in many other ways. The avenue where I live on was named after an obscure former councilor of the City of Montreal. He most certainly deserves to have streets named after him in cities and towns all across Canada. After the cross country run of Terry Fox 30 years ago numerous communities in Canada now have street plaques with his name. There is already a Stephenville in Newfoundland and another one in Texas which is much more to his liking. There is also a Harperville in Manitoba.. Airports in Toronto and Montreal got named for former prime ministers Pearson and Trudeau respectively. An airport in Alberta could bear his name. As a generous benefactor he could have schools, sports complexes and parks bearing his illustrious name. The ultimate distinction would be for Harper to become a common noun or verb like what happened to Sandwich or Boycott.
