Interceiving

Disc review

This is the weird and wild world of Interceiving. Playing like the soundtrack to a slasher film-cum-video game-cum-art installation, the pan-Canadian quartet bring a lot to the plate on this debut EP. While "noise band," as they themselves say, may not be the most apt description of their music, they nevertheless build something organic through a meeting of man (drums, bass, guitar, kalimba) and machine (no-input mixer, electronics, synths). The songs refuse to plod, instead motoring along at the speeds of funk, punk, Kraut rock and pop.
