Yes, it's silly, cartoonish even, but folks, this is epic cinema in a way that can only be seen on the silver screen. Forget ever watching 2012 on DVD or Blu-ray, it just won't work. This isn't high art but damn if there isn't artistry in the chaos. This is the apex of disaster movies. Acting? Story? Who cares. For once go for F/X buffet and let it wash all over you.
