If your fickle heart yearns for a bit of the tried and the true, a bit of the worn (boots) and the blue (jeans), then look no further than Toronto’s $100. The sextet sizzle up a real-deal meal of country and western like our (grand)daddies loved on their debut, the Rick White produced Forest of Tears. The band, led by impossibly great vocalist Simone Schmidt, takes us through dusty, urban, abandoned streets of broken dreams and tattered lives, all the while coating their folk with pedal steel and sumptuous organ.
