The Poison

Disc review

The band name’s gonna get the broken-hearted emo kids creaming their jeans, but save for a few tracks, BFMV is nasty as a venomous snakebite and twice as potent. Polished, charging and sometimes-brutal hard rock abounds here with emotion, darkness, melody and chaos all getting due representation. Standout tracks The Poison, Room 409 and 4 Words (to Choke Upon) are but the tip of the iceberg on this offering, which starts with the punishing Her Voice Resides (check the ’80s metal riffing, yo) and rarely lets up. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.
